Michelle Edgemont’s career in design started in textiles, not flowers. After earning her BFA in Textile and Surface Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she worked as a textile designer for brands including Converse, Martha Stewart, and Macy’s — producing trend forecasts, developing prints, and managing overseas production across four fashion collections a year.

In 2011, she launched Michelle Edgemont Design, an event design and floral production studio based in Tarrytown, New York. Over the next decade, she built it into a sought-after boutique practice known for a style she describes as “modern, detail-oriented, and daring” — designing weddings, galas, and corporate events for clients ranging from couples in the Hudson Valley to organizations like Good Morning America, BCG, and HGTV. She accepted only one event per weekend, giving each client her full creative focus.

Her work earned her a spot on BizBash’s Top 500 Most Influential Wedding Pros and Floral Review’s Top 35 Under 35 Floral Designers, and has been featured in The New York Times, Martha Stewart Weddings, and The Knot. She also spent nine years as a digital content creator for HGTV, translating her design expertise into editorial content for a national audience.

Michelle joined Poppy Flowers as Director of Sales in 2025, where she leads the sales team and works directly with couples planning their wedding flowers. She brings the same eye for cohesive, visually inspiring design that defined her studio work — now applied at the scale of the nation’s largest full-service wedding florist. Her background in fashion, event production, and floral design gives her a rare ability to see the full picture of a couple’s wedding vision and translate it into a floral plan that feels both personal and polished.
